Chances are pretty good that you've known several people, maybe family members, or friends, or past co-workers that have made the leap to private business ownership.
Can you think of any of these people that have a thriving business today? Hopefully, you can . . . but the odds are not good.
I'm guessing you probably have knowledge of more startup failures among your friends than successes.
Here's an alarming statistic:
96% of all small business start-ups are doomed to failure.
I hope that sentence doesn't scare you away from moving forward in starting your own business.
But as I stated earlier, I want you to know the truth about what you're facing and how to side-step the traps others are setting for you.
Now don't get me wrong . . .
I really am one of the most excited, committed, "juiced up" advocates of Internet small business you'll ever find. That should become apparent as you read the posts of this blog.
I believe, without question, that you absolutely must have your own small business online if you ever want to leave the "workplace" trap - it makes sense for so many reasons.
And believe me, there has never been a better time (right now), or a better tool (the Internet), to help you become wildly successful in selling your goods, services, or information online to anxious customers around the globe.
You must not put off your dream of having your own business any longer - you just need to be careful about how you get started.
You see, your success or failure will come in the execution of the planning, details, and daily operations of your business.
But I must tell you, you're really kidding yourself if you believe all the hype and nonsense swirling around, especially online, that starting a web business is easy, extremely profitable, and something you can quickly master with little or no effort.
Once you've been online for even a few minutes you'll see this very ugly, misleading, damaging, and dream-killing lie plastered all over the Internet.
You probably know what I'm talking about.
You've seen the get-rich-quick messages and ads everywhere: in emails, e-books, banner ads, online wealth building courses, and MLM program recruiting pitches.
It's the lie of hucksters, con-artists, and occasionally even inexperienced but well-meaning entrepreneurs that are trying to convince you their product for sale is the only solution you will ever need to become rich.
Don't believe any such promises!
Home based business is work - but that work can be very joyful, fulfilling, and even fun if you have the right mindset, pick the right niche, and set up your business so that it doesn't totally consume your life.
Now that's what we're going to discuss over time in this blog: how to set up and run your own home business on the Internet!
I hope you'll join us often.
